Peardeck

Image
Peardeck is a presentation program just like powerpoint. Unlike powerpoint peardeck is more focused on educational matters, which makes it more valuable to those in the academy. I created a presentation myself, you can find it in the link below https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1KiuoOTp7R34PVhqA4Y19Lxks_rWNCx-GVnkTzcHe0V4/edit?usp=sharing

Edmodo

Image
Edmodo is a platform where you can follow your teachers classes and if you are a teacher, you can create a class. Here you can see my class and my opening statement. You can also see the class code(yvwqfr). You can share your (randomly generated) code with your students through whattsap or other means. You can create assigments to your students. Your students can submit their assignments and ask questions. You can also anounce new developments in your class and announce your exam date or other things related to your class.

Educational Presence

Social Presence: It is being present in dialogue and it is being recognized as a real person behind the screen. Social presence is very important in online lessons. Transactional Presence: It is interaction with each other in a online or offline educational environment. We can also call it dialogue presence or interaction presence. This is also very important. Cognitive Presence: This is the exchange of ideas between students and it can increase the success of the class in general. In the learning process, exchanging ideas and knowledge between students is very important. Teaching Presence: The process of designing and planning the lesson. All learning processes need this presence.

CTML

Image
CTML, also known as Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning is a theory developed by Richard E. Mayer and his colleagues. This theory has 3 parts 1- The Dual Channel Assumption: we got our information from two fronts, auditory and visual channels. People take informaiton and knowledge through these two channels. 2- The Limited Capacity Assumption: We do not have infinite knowledge capacity. If we try to cross our limit, we will create a ''Cognitive load''. Example: trying to study your lesson with your eyes and listening to hard metal music with your ears can be very hard. 3-The Active Processing Assumption: Learning can not be done passively. You have to filter, organize and integrate that knowledge.
